The deputy of the Saairun Badr Al-Ziyadi coalition confirmed, today, Friday, that the Kurdistan region has so far not disclosed its financial liability to Baghdad, while indicating that this will delay the approval of the budget for several days.

Al-Ziyadi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the salaries of employees and retirees are insured and there is no delay in them and they are continuing for several months because the sums of money are present, even if the vote on the general budget is delayed."

He added, "The budget has a big difference between the Kurds, the Finance Committee and the political parties, so it needs political consensus and more time to vote on it."

He pointed out that "the region has not paid the debts from 2003 until now," explaining that "the problem is related to the region's disclosure of the non-oil resources it owed to Baghdad, and that until now there are no consensuses regarding this file, and thus the budget will be delayed for several more days."
